Paula Kaye Harmon, 68, of Clay City, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly, August 16, 2016 at her home.
Paula was born in New Castle, Indiana January 1, 1948 the daughter of Dallas Rood Jr. and Martha (Byrd) Rood. She graduated from Randolph Southern High School in Lynn, Indiana with the class of 1966. She married Alfred Harmon May 3, 1983 and later Paul Vansickle.
She enjoyed flower gardening, mushroom hunting and spending time with her family – especially her grandkids.
Paula is survived by her 3 children: Jeff Miller and wife Diana of Colorado, Cindy Schmaltz and husband David of Brazil and Jackie Fisher and husband David; grandchildren: Emma Miller, Noah Schmaltz, Katila Schmaltz, Dallas Dean and wife Shelby, Austin Dean, Emily Dean, Chloe Fisher and Macie Fisher; a great grandson Carter Dean; two brothers Tim Rood and DeWayne Rood and wife Toni of Clay City as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dallas and Martha Rood and a brother Robert Rood.
Services will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, in Clay City, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 1:00pm with Pastor Ted Malone officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
