Greencastle Community School Board Superintendent Dawn Puckett attended her last school board session on Monday to officially end her 36 year career in the realm of education. Puckett has served honorably during her years in office on the board as superintendent, and even before that, as an assistant superintendent, technology integrator and English teacher. A heartfelt thank you and congratulations goes out to Dawn Puckett for everything she contributed to help and educate our children. A retirement ceremony will be held for Dawn on Thursday, August 18th from 3:30pm to 5pm at the GCSC Central Office at 1002 Mill Pond Lane in Greencastle. The public is invited to take this chance to attend and thank Dawn personally for her service to the community. Currently the process to find another superintendent to take Dawn’s place is nearing the final stages. The board is currently looking at two candidates that have passed two background checks, family and friend interviews and personal meetings with the board. The only steps left are to choose one of the two candidates and forward them a contract to be advertised publicly for 10 days. After another 7 days the final candidate will be hired on as the new superintendent of the Greencastle Community School Board during a public meeting.
