CASA or the Court Appointed Special Advocates program in Clay County has decided that it is time to begin expanding. This decision was made due to the growing case load they have recently begun to face. CASA is a program that file reports and talk to judges on behalf of children for the court. The expansion will recruit volunteers who will undergo 30 hours of training before swearing an oath to certify them as a CASA volunteer. Currently CASA has a volunteer base of eight motivated individuals however they are hoping to increase this number by six or eight by fall this year.
