The 2016 Putnam County Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics was ran yesterday evening. Runners began at the People Pathways Gazebo across from Walmart, in Greencastle east, making their way west to their destination of Putnam County Comprehensive Services. Participating local law enforcement included Greencastle Police Officer Sgt. Ed Wilson, Detective Matt Huffman, Officer Darrel Bunten, Officer Josh Smith, Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy Capt. Dwight Simmons, DePauw Dispatcher Christina Paul and Police Officer Brad Williams. GPD Assistant Chief Brian Hopkins and Officer Nick Eastham also assisted the runners by providing a security escort.
