Robert E. ‘Bobby’ Bauers Sr., 79, of Brazil, Indiana passed away unexpectedly in his home on July 15, 2016.
Bobby was born on June 15, 1937 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Kenneth and Louise Bauers. He graduated from Gerstmeyer High School and then enlisted in the United States Navy soon after. Following his service, he began working for the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 157 where he would later retire.
Bobby created his own business, B&B Satellite. He enjoyed eating biscuits and gravy at the local Hardee’s with the “gang”. His farm was his passion, raising cattle, gardening, and fixing fences. He loved his wife dearly, the family they created, and especially joking around with grandchildren.
He belonged to the Terre Haute Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post 2, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1127, Terre Haute Moose Lodge, and Elks Lodge 762. He was a member of Brazil Church of the Nazarene.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Louise Bauers, and a granddaughter, Brittany Moore.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, whom he married May 30, 1959; children, Bob Jr. (Kris) Bauers of Terre Haute, Patti (Tim) Foxx of Brazil, and Helen (Gary) Aker of Brazil; grandchildren, Tony Bauers, Jake Bauers, Kenny Foxx, Heather Foxx, Megan Aker, and Dalton Aker; great grandchildren, Owyn Bauers, Korvyn Bauers, Braelyn Brody; his pets Snowball the dog, Tater the dog, and Kitty the kitten; as well as many relatives and friends.
Services will be Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 3pm at French Funeral Home with Pastor Marlin Betts officiating. Private Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday at 1pm until time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clay County Humane Society, P.O. Box 277, Brazil, IN 47834.
