Purdue head basketball coach, Matt Painter, has agreed to a three-year contract extension that will keep him at Purdue through the 2021-22 season.
Painter said that the deal may not be finalized until later this summer and no comments would be made until then. Purdue will not comment until approval of the finalized deal at the Aug. 25-26 meeting of the Purdue Board of Trustees.
Financial details are not yet available, but Painter is set to make $2.45 million for the 2016-17 season in base salary. He will also get a supplemental stipend for media responsibilities and supplemental retirement contributions. There are additional bonuses depending on how the team finishes in the conference and national tournament.
