Laurie Ann Pierce

Laurie Ann Pierce, 47 of Brazil, passed away unexpectedly, June 22, 2016, at her home. She was born September 11, 1968, in Marion County, IN, the daughter of John and Kathleen Nelson Fidler. She was raised in Brazil and graduated from Northview High School. In the past, Laurie worked for Verizon in Terre Haute, and last worked as a server at Bandana’s Restaurant in Terre Haute. She had a stroke in July of 2015, and following that, Laurie had to reluctantly quit working and she was no longer able to drive. She loved and adored her children and grandchildren, and her goal was to love on and spoil her grandkids. Laurie also found love again four years ago and she cherished her “Teddy bear”, her fiancé, Doug Gaskill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Kathleen Fidler; a sister, Billie Wright; sister in law, Robin Fidler and two half-brothers, Bucky Fidler and Mike Fidler.

Survivors include her children, Caitlyn Skelton and husband James of Brazil and son Sloan Pierce, currently stationed in Kuwait with the US Army; fiancé, Doug Gaskill; grandbabies, Arayah, Carter, Leland, and Brockton; siblings, Shari Fidler, Mary Waidlich, Johnny Fidler, Steve Fidler, Jim Fidler, Vicki Nichols, Chris Fidler, Nancy Carter, Buddy Fidler, Brenda Barnes, Christy Barnes, Kathy Wiseman and Sharon Wiseman; many nieces, nephews and extended family including a cousin, Alyssa Moore-Hiatt and Doug Gaskill’s mother, Paulette Gaskill and brothers, Jeff Gaskill and Robbie Gaskill.

Services will be held Saturday at 2:00pm at the Lawson-Miller Chapel with Pastor Vince McFarland officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11-2.
