Health insurance cost to rise

Health insurance costs are expected to rise in Indiana next year. Industry experts say the higher costs come as insurers continue to struggle with rising health care expenses and the market, which was overhauled by the Affordable Care Act. Many Putnam County residents are eligible for subsidies or tax credits that will offset costs. However, those who make too much money to get federal help each year have to pay the full cost of coverage. That amount could double in some instances. Experts also point to more medical services being used and rising drug costs as industry concerns.
