Donald Clark, 79, of Center Point, passed away June 4, 2016 at IU Health Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis with his family by his side after a courageous battle with Cancer.
Don was born January 14, 1937 in Saline City, Indiana, the son of the late Everett and Ruth (Deeter) Clark. He graduated from Ashboro High School in 1954. During high school he was an outstanding basketball player for the Ashboro Shamrocks, where he was inducted into the New Castle Basketball Hall of Fame. He married the love of his life Rosalie Stoelting in 1957. They celebrated 59 years of marriage last week. Don worked at Ethel Visqueen for 17 years. He then worked at Brazil Coal and Clay Mine for 11 years until they closed, and then he worked at Speedway Station in maintenance until his retirement.
In his free time he enjoyed playing cards at the local hardware store, golfing and watching IU Basketball and the New York Yankees. He and his wife took great pride in attending home IU Basketball games for 44 years. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and son in law, William Head.
Don is survived by his wife, Rosalie Clark; daughters, Paula Head, Kimberly McCarter (Bill); grandchildren, Chad Head (Jamie), Amanda Fox (Paul), Jessica McCarter (Paul Davis); great grandchildren, Danielle, Dillan, Brookelyn Head, Harrison and Abbey Fox; as well as extended family and friends.
Services will be Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 3pm at French Funeral Home with Pastor Judy Lints officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday at 1pm until time of service. Per Don’s wish cremation will take place. Burial will be at Center Point Cemetery at a later date.
