The North Putnam Cougar’s baseball team went into sectionals Wednesday night looking to get the bats going against Monrovia. The Cougars did just that, winning 10-3. Senior pitcher Brayden White (a DePauw University commit) finished the night with 13 strikeouts in a complete game. Batting, he was hit twice which puts his career total at 45, just one short of tying the all time state record. He was nearly hit for a third time in his last at bat but the ball missed only by inches.
The Cougars will move on to play South Putnam on Monday morning at 10 a.m. The sectional round is being hosted by North Putnam.
In the other games that will take place on Thursday night South Vermillion will take on Rockville at 5 p.m. and Cloverdale will take on Southmont at 7 p.m.
