Putnam County Sheriff’s Department Swears in First Female Deputy Since Its 1822 Start

Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy Elizabeth Campbell became the Department’s first female deputy since its inception in 1822, as she and Deputy David Scott Ducker officially pledged their ceremonial oath of office Thursday, April 21, in the Putnam Superior Courtroom. Campbell and Ducker privately took their oaths with Sheriff Scott Stockton the beginning of March, and began with the Dept, making five new hires since last fall. Ducker is Academy trained, and recently worked with Kewanna Police Department in Fulton County. Ducker is also a Military Police Officer in the Army Reserve. Campbell comes to the Dept with a BS Psychology, MA Cognitive Psychology, she is working on a doctorate, and will soon attend Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
