Danville Accident Caused by Medical Emergency, Disrupts Traffic & Damages Utility Lines

A medical emergency of a driver traveling east on US 36 lead to a destructive accident near the corner of Bosstick Ave and US 36, in Danville, on the afternoon of April 22. Witnesses told Danville Police they saw an east-bound truck veer off the south side of US 36, continue through a yard, cross over Bosstick Ave, slam through the corner of a house, continue into the air, hit a parked vehicle, damage a parked trailer, and finally came to rest at a large tree. The driver was assisted out of the vehicle by a Danville citizen, and was found to be experiencing a medical emergency, but was conscious and alert. The male was given on-scene medical attention by Danville Fire Department, and transported to Hendricks Regional Hospital for further evaluation. The accident caused damage to gas lines, water lines, and electrical services at the home. Duke Energy, Vectren Gas, and the Danville Water Department provided assistance on scene to keep the location safe, but traffic on Bosstick Ave was blocked for several hours. DPD Officers Andrew Pride, Jerry Cunningham, and Nate Lien worked the scene.
