Putnam County Museum “Founding Families” Allee Family Exhibit

The Putnam County Museum will be honoring another of our “Founding Families” as the Allee Family Exhibit opens this Saturday (April 23). Todd Crosby will be the opening day speaker with his comments scheduled for 10:00 A.M. at the museum (1105 North Jackson). Colonel John Allee migrated to Indiana from Kentucky in 1830. During that transformative year, he purchased section 16(640 acres) in Jefferson Township, and married Lucretia Pruitt. The couple would have 10 children and support their family with subsistence farming and Colonel John’s work on the original National Road. Significant contributors to the family exhibit include John and Judy Crosby, Ann Magee, and Tami VanRenssaleer. Join them this weekend at the Putnam County Museum for a trip into our county’s formative years.
