Girl Scout Troop 2276 was in the news earlier this month when they presented their idea of helping out cancer patients during the April Greencastle City Council meeting. The idea was to create care packages that included hand sewed quilts, playing cards, coloring books, hair scarves, ginger gum and much more. Since then the care packages were completed and delivered to the cancer patients currently being treated at the Putnam County Hospital. It is without a doubt that Girl Scout Troop 2276 has shown exceptional leadership in organizing this act of kindness. The motivation from this project came from one of the girls in the Troop who’s mother is currently diagnosed with cancer. With this events great success in uplifting the spirits of those fighting the good fight, it was decided that this project will become an annual event for years to come for the Girl Scouts.
