Earlier this morning the Floyd Township Fire Department responded to a 2 vehicle accident on U.S. highway 36 County Road 600 East. Preliminary investigation from law enforcement revealed that a small passenger car was heading northbound on County Road 600 East and pulled onto 36 into the path of an East bound pickup truck. In a stroke of luck, the driver of the pickup was able to swerve just enough to prevent a complete side impact on the passenger car’s driver side door. After the truck struck the passenger car, it rolled and landed in a ditch on all 4 wheels approximately 75 feet away from the point of impact. The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital for injuries while the driver of the car was treated at the scene and later released.
