Larry F. Funk

Larry F. Funk, 73, of Brazil, passed away unexpectedly, April 8, 2016, at his residence of an apparent heart attack.

He was born in Terre Haute, on April 30, 1942, to James and Marie (Engle) Funk. Mr. Funk attended State High School, in Terre Haute, and later joined the United States Army where he served in the Combat Engineers and later for Security and was honorably discharged in 1963 as a Private First Class. He worked at Columbia Records for several years. Larry married Jacqueline Lucas May 23, 1964. They moved to Orange County California where he worked at Arrow Head Products as a Punch Press Set-up Operator until retiring in 2005. After retirement he and Jackie moved back to Brazil. In his free time he enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon, and spending time with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Marie Funk; wife Jacqueline Funk; siblings, James Robert Funk, Odis Eugene Funk, John Parker Funk, Marion LeRoy Funk, Betty Florene Funk, Dorothy Ellen Armstrong, Kenny Funk, Shirley Marie Funk, Fredrick Lee Funk, Melba Pauline Sheppard, William Jefferson Funk, and Evelyn Ann Nevins.

Larry is survived by his siblings: Charles Elmer Funk of Terre Haute, Richard Marvin Funk and wife Frankie Jo of Georgia, Clarence Michael Funk and wife Dixie of Seelyville, IN and Margaret Sue Cude and husband Tex of Oklahoma as well as a large extended family.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 East National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 5-8pm. Services will take place Friday at 11:00am with Pastor Mark Thompson officiating. Graveside services will follow at Roselawn Cemetery, in Terre Haute, with military honors provided by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and United States Army. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leukemia Society 9075 N Meridian St #150, Indianapolis, IN 46260 in his memory. Visit to light a candle in his memory.
