James E. Brattain, 77, of Brazil and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away at Union Hospital, April 7, 2016 following a valiant battle with cancer.
Jim was born November 3, 1937, in Rockville, Indiana the son of Floyd and Ruby (Garrett) Brattain. He attended Bellmore High School and worked most of his life as a truck driver.
He married Hazel (Wright) Jones in February of this year.
In his free time Jim enjoyed tinkering and working around the house.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Fred Brattain, Russell Brattain and Larry Joseph Brattain.
Jim is survived by his wife Hazel of Brazil; his daughter: Pamela Blubaugh; grandson Logan Buchholz; siblings: Steve Brattain and wife Lynn, Paula Jeffries, Ron Brattain and wife Jan; step-children: Helen Johnson and husband John, Frank Jones and wife Shelia, Edie Hardman and husband Ronnie, MaryAnn McKean and husband Brent as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 East National Ave. Brazil, IN 47834, Monday, April 11, 2016 from 4-8pm. Services will be at the funeral home, Tuesday, at 11:00am.
