Scam has a new twist

Another phone scam you need to look out for. In a new twist on the recent arrest warrant scam for missing jury duty; these scammers have recently started using local law enforcement names along with the names of judges and other officers to make the scam seem more realistic. As a reminder, law enforcement officers do not call threatening to arrest an individual for missing jury duty, failing to pay taxes, or for other reasons. If you get this kind of call immediately hang up. Do not be convinced by caller ID either because there are lots of different types of software that can easily fake a phone number. To report a scam you can contact the IRS on their website or call your counties public safety communications number.
