Edna Lorraine Barker, 94, of Roachdale, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at The Waters of Greencastle.
She was born on Jan. 16, 1922 in New Maysville to the late James M. and Clellia (Stewart) Jones.
She married Walter L. Barker on Nov. 18, 1940. He preceded her in death.
Edna attended Barnard school in New Maysville. She was a homemaker and mother. She worked as a cook at Roachdale Elementary for several years.
Edna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a heart, caring for hungry children and was active in charities for children. She enjoyed collecting dolls and other items. She was a member of the Roachdale Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Jim (Rita) Barker; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and sisters, Ruth Brown of Avon, Helen Jones of Greencastle, Patricia Jones of Danville and Sue Inabnit of Danville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Floyd, Bill, and Bob; and sisters Shirley and Phyllis.
The family invites you to visit with them on Friday, April 1 from 5-7 p.m. at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale. There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 2 at New Maysville Cemetery with Pastor Shannon Ivers officiating.
