Louisa May Alcott’s “Little Women” becomes DePauw’s spring Opera

Louisa May Alcott’s classic story “Little Women” has been transformed into Opera, by the musical compositional stylings of Mark Adamo, for DePauw’s spring production, conducted by Orcenith Smith, and both directed and produced by Joachim Schamberger. The Civil War era, coming-of-age tale following outspoken Jo and her three sisters as they struggle against growing up, domesticity, work, attempting to escape gender constraints, and true love. The operatic performance can be seen in the Moore Theatre of the Green Center for Performing Arts, this weekend. The next available showings are Saturday, March 5 at 7:30PM, and Sunday, March 6 at 2PM. General admission tickets are $7, however, the performance is free to seniors, youth, and students.
