Yesterday, the Danville Police Department was contacted by Child Protective services who requested their assistance. The CPS case worker stated that she was contacted by a doctor after a child was brought in with serious facial trauma. The 6 year old had several teeth knocked out, and was bleeding heavily. The doctor suspected that the parents had told a phony story to cover up a more serious incident and contacted authorities. Detective Sergeant Wright interviewed the boyfriend of the child’s mother who admitted to striking the child in the face after becoming angry. Child Protective Services currently have the child in a safe location, and the male was charged with Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury and jailed.
