American Red Cross March Designated as Red Cross Month

The American Red Cross is reminding everyone that March is Red Cross Month. March has been designated as Red Cross Month by every president since 1943. This was done to recognize how the Red Cross helps people around the world. It is also a time to consider donating blood. The Red Cross depends on blood donors to meet the needs of 2,600 hospitals nationwide. Donors of all blood types are needed to help those currently receiving cancer treatment, organ transplants, burn victims and others who rely on blood products.
