Bill To Allow Police to Withhold Body Cam Video Moves to the Senate

Indiana Law makers have been introduced to a bill that would allow police to withhold video caught on body cameras from the public eye if an individual does not have a court order. This bill passed the house 65-30 last month and has since moved to the senate. Today the senate will be convening to make a decision on the matter. The bill is a controversial one with supporters saying that this will protect the privacy of those captured in police videos. Opposition of the bill comes from the media who believes that the videos should be available to the public to show government and law enforcement transparency.
