Roadside Commercial Vehicle Inspection Results in One Arrest

Yesterday afternoon at 12:04, Indiana State Police Trooper Yan Dravigne stopped a 2007 Volvo tractor pulling a box trailer eastbound on Interstate 70 near the 51 mile marker for a routine commercial vehicle inspection.

During conversation with the driver, Trooper Dravigne noticed possible indicators of criminal activity. A consensual search of the tractor revealed (10) fraudulent credit cards with stolen credit card numbers concealed in a DVD case.

Arrested:         Ashot Shaumyan, age 57, of Van Nuys, California

                        Held in Morgan County Jail

Charges:          Credit Card Fraud (felony)

                        Forgery (felony)

The tractor-trailer was operated under Vaga Express of Duarte, California. Shaumyan was transporting fresh produce from Yuma, Arizona to Bronx, New York.
