Abduction of Elementary Student Attempted while Waiting for Morning Bus

February 4, after an 11-year old fifth grader of Meridian Elementary reported to her school officials that a man tried to convince her to get in his car at the bus stop Thursday morning, Brazil Police Department has promised to increase morning patrols of school bus stops, and Clay Community Schools sent home letters with their students on safety information to discuss with parentals. Being treated as an attempted abduction, BPD Captain Dennis Archer asks if anyone has any info regarding the abduction attempt near Central Avenue and Sherman Street, or the suspect, please contact the BPD at 812-446-2211. The suspect is believed to be either Hispanic or Asian, between 30 and 40 years old, with dark skin. He is believed to be bald or have a shaved head, with no facial hair. He was reported to be driving a four-door, navy blue, newer model sedan. For a video link that discusses safety on a child’s level, and other safety tips, find this story on WREBfm.com.
