Cloverdale authorities reacted to an online bomb threat that was made Thursday evening. The Cloverdale school buildings were cleared with the assistance of Cloverdale Police Department, Cloverdale Fire Department, Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, and school staff. The schools were on lock-down for Friday’s school session and students were searched upon entering. Superintendent Greg Linton’s statement assures that while they treated this threat seriously, these measures were precautionary and the student was in custody. An investigation regarding the bomb threat continues and all associated information is being sent to the Putnam County Prosecutor for assessment. A Cloverdale Middle School student has admitted to making the threat, jokingly, and is cooperating with authorities in the investigation, along with the student’s parents. It is yet unknown if charges will be filed.
