Lorena E. (Schuster) Drake, 93, of Brazil, passed away on January 5, 2016 at Cloverleaf Nursing Home.
Lorena was born November 9, 1922 in Douglas County, IL, the daughter of the late Clemens and Lucille (Schaffer) Schuster. She married the love of her life Floyd Drake on October 16, 1944. He preceded her in passing on November 10, 1979. Lorena was a professional seamstress that specialized on wedding dresses and alterations. She was known to many as the “seamstress lady”. She was a member of Ashboro United Methodist Church and Women’s Society of Christian Service. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and working on her Singer Sewing Machines. Her greatest pride was spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mary Ann Drake; daughter, Patty Ann Drake; sister, Marie Monroe.
She is survived by her children, Sam Drake (Shar), Jim Drake, Bob Drake (Marsha), Dan Drake; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Schuster, Bob Schuster; sisters, Martina Howard, Anna Mae Wright; as well as extended family and friends.
Services will be Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 3pm at French Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Kumpf officiating. Burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at 1pm until time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5635 96th St #100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
