Live Christmas Tree Recycling Begins 12/26

Live Christmas trees can be recycled beginning today, December 26, through January 30. The trees, as long they don’t have any plastic or decorations on them, are re-purposed as fish and wildlife habitats, to help in erosion control, or turned into mulch. In Putnam County-Greencastle, the trees can be dropped off at the Yard Waste Site located at 2363 South County Road 200 West, just past the County Highway Department. If you would like to get a tree to use on your property, you can call 765-653-2150. There are other tree recycling sites, and those are:

Lieber State Park- in the office parking lot on SR243

Raccoon Lake – on US 36, follow the signs through the park

Rockville Lake Park – 828 N. Marshall Road

Crawfordsville – Yard Waste Drop-Off Site, take E. Market St. to 1109 N. Whitlock Ave, follow to the dead end.
