On Wednesday afternoon, December 16, at 3:22, Indiana State Police Trooper Brandon Mullen was patrolling US 40 near County Road 425 West, when he radar clocked a gray Pontiac Grand Prix at 101mph in a 55mph zone. Mullen activated his emergency lighting and attempted to stop the vehicle, but the Pontiac continued eastbound at a high rate of speed and forcing other vehicles off the roadway. The Pontiac then side-swiped another vehicle and spun out in the median near CR 200W.
Trooper Mullen immediately took the driver into custody and noticed classic signs of intoxication. A second driver then approached Mullen and advised that the impaired driver had rear ended his vehicle near Hulman Airport in Vigo County and fled the scene.
