No Child Left Behind Program is Out

The No Child Left Behind initiative that began in 2002 is getting some changes made to it.
The main change will be that most decisions will now be handled by the state and local school corporations in regards to student achievement. States will also have more input as to the curriculum being being taught. No Child Left Behind will terminate at the end of the current school year, and the new version, Every Student Succeeds, will begin with the 2017 school year, giving schools a 1year trial to see how things work under the new plan.
