On December 4th a man in Clay County was charged with resisting arrest, possession of a stolen vehicle, and driving while intoxicated. This all started when the man Jason Kincaid, age 40 nearly hit an Indiana Police Trooper on US40 near CR 425 W. The trooper at the time was already conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle for an expired registration. Police were dispatched and stopped Kincaid’s stolen vehicle. When officials stepped out of their patrol car Kincaid put the stolen vehicle in drive and attempted to escape and crashed shortly after leaving the road in an attempt to increase his chances of escaping. He was later treated for his injuries at a hospital and arrested soon afterwards and taken to the Clay County Jail.
