A new scam is spreading through Indiana that involves hacking into your Smartphone. Scammers are now using a special malware being referred to as ransomware that locks you out of your phone and tells you to immediately call a phony customer service number. From there the scammers then ask for a payment of $50 to$60 and disable the virus from the phone. After the interaction the victim has left all of their payment information to the scammers who proceed to take advantage of this fact. If you find yourself in this situation immediately contact your phone carrier to see if anything can be done about the situation rather than calling the phony customer service phone number.
