On November 30th at 3:40pm Parke County Deputies responded to a one vehicle crash on US 41 in Snake Hollow. James Thomas, age 39 of Veedersburg, operating a Kenworth semi with a tanker trailer, was traveling north on US 41. The vehicle was traveling too fast around a corner and left the north side of the roadway. The truck and trailer then came to rest overturned in a ditch trapping the driver inside. When emergency responders removed James he was taken to the Union Hospital of Clinton for non-life threatening injuries. Due to the 5,000 gallons of water based nitrogen fertilizer currently being cleaned-up US 41 may experience closures in the next couple of days. The spill has also been reported to have entered Big Raccoon Creek in the area.
