The Human Society of Putnam County will be having a Low Cost micro chipping clinic on November 21st from 9am to 12pm. The chipping process is simple and starts with a veterinary technician that will insert a tiny rice-sized I.D. chip that is encoded with a unique number. The microchip is implanted just under the skin in the scruff of the neck. The process is simple and only takes a few seconds. The microchip can be read by a scanner used by shelters, vets, animal control officers and local police. You must bring Proof of rabies vaccination. This can be a current rabies tag or a form from your vet showing that the dog is up-to-date on rabies vaccinations. Also, have the name and phone number for an emergency contact, someone other than yourself, to include on your enrollment/registration form. For more information you can call (765) 653-7174.
