The Indiana Pacers fell in their season opener on Wednesday night in Toronto to the Raptors, 106-99. After ending the first quarter up ten, 30-20, the Pacers lost momentum and were outscored by 12 in the third quarter. After taking the lead late in the fourth quarter the Pacers could not hold on with Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan and Jonas Valancuinas taking over. DeRozan led all scores with 25 and Lowry finished with 23. Valancuinas had 21 points and 15 rebounds.
The Pacer were led by Paul George who missed all but six games last season who had 17 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and three steals. First year Pacer Monta Ellis had nine points and six assists.
Indiana’s next game will be on Thursday night, which is there home opener, against the Memphis Grizzlies at 7 p.m.
