The Putnam County Sheriffs’ Department made an arrest yesterday following a pursuit that had police chasing a suspect at speeds of 100 miles per hour at approximately 2:55pm. The chase started when Nicholas Joseph McAlister, age 25 of Avon, was speeding in the wrong lane of U.S 40 in Hendricks county. A law enforcement officer was able to clock the speed of the suspect and attempted to perform a traffic stop. That is when McAlister began to flee from law enforcement by heading westbound on the eastbound lane of U.S. 40. McAlister eventually arrived at the Putnam County line and finally stopped at a driveway located on County Road 250 East. Police investigation revealed methamphetamine located in McAlister’s wallet and $1,300. McAlister was arrested for dealing in methamphetamine and resisting law enforcement. He was taken to the Putnam County Jail.
