Navigators at Johnson Nichols Health Clinic will once again be helping consumers to get health insurance coverage when the Marketplace Open Enrollment begins on November 1st. According to The Department of Health and Human Services over 1,012 people in Putnam County have enrolled in a Marketplace insurance plan since the start of the Affordable Care Act in 2013. Out of that 1012 consumers, 921 are receiving financial assistance. Those consumers who are already enrolled can be automatically re enrolled in their same plan, but are encouraged to go back to the Marketplace to view new options and make sure they are enrolled in the plan that is best for them. The fine continues to increase for those who are not covered, $695 per person or 2.5% of consumer’s income whichever is greater. Navigators are also continuing to help enroll consumers eligible for the expanded Medicaid plan for adults, HIP 2.0. In person assistance is available at no cost and financial assistance is available to help lower monthly premiums. Call 765-653-6171 to schedule an appointment with a Navigator. Open enrollment will continue until January 31st.
