Tiger Mens’ Soccer Ties With Denison

Granville, Ohio – The DePauw men’s soccer team picked up its fourth tie of the season in a 2-2 contest against Denison on Saturday.

The Big Red got on the scoreboard first on a goal from Kennedy Kommor. Yet, DePauw was able to tie it by halftime when Adrian Ables found Julian Gonzalez, who scored off a jumping side kick. It was Gonzalez’s eighth goal of the season.

In the second half, Denison’s Jordan Williams broke the tie on a penalty kick at 69:40. DePauw answered quickly though when Ables picked up his second assist after finding Alieu Musa at the front of the goal.

Both teams failed to score for the remainder of regulation and the two overtimes.

Chris Yount made five saves in net. DePauw also outshot Denison 27-16, and Denison took 10 corners to DePauw’s nine.

DePauw moves to 9-2-4 overall and 4-1-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Denison moves to 10-2-3 overall and 2-2-3 in the NCAC. DePauw hosts Wabash on Wednesday in its home finale.
