Virginia ‘Ginny’ L. Windmiller Gentry

Virginia “Ginny” L. Windmiller Gentry entered heaven on Friday, Oct. 16, 2015.

Ginny was reunited with her parents, Lawrence “Mike” and Marie Carmichael Windmiller, sister and brother-in-law Janice and Bill White and lifelong friend Lana Call Rolle.

Ginny was born at home on March 19, 1942.

She attended Roachdale High School, and was baptized as a member of the Roachdale Christian Church.

On Oct. 24, 1959, she married her best friend, Dennis Gentry, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Crawfordsville.

Ginny had worked as a quality control inspector at Raybestos and retired after 25 years of service.

She enjoyed gardening, reading daily devotionals, collecting angels and Coca-Cola memorabilia.

Ginny also loved cooking for her family and made the best homemade chicken and noodles.

Ginny and Dennis enjoyed NASCAR racing and traveling, especially to Phoenix, Ariz., and Pensacola, Fla.

A wonderful wife, sister, mother, aunt and grandmother, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her, including the family dog, Cocoa.

Ginny is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Dennis Gentry, of Roachdale; her brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Vicki Windmiller, also of Roachdale; children Denise Gentry (Fred Blaydes) of Roachdale, Robin Gentry McHugh of Colorado Springs, Colo., Stacy Powers (Tod) of Ladoga, and Tom Gentry (Janette Beauchamp) of Cloverdale.

Ginny was the loving grandmother of Ashley Bullerdick Cochran (Jeff), Nicholas Gentry (Neva Brady), Raushell Gentry, Cale Powers (Tracy Enlow) and Kacie Powers (Caleb Schenck). Ginny was blessed with two great grandchildren, Brayden Gayge and Madalynn Mae along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

Servies and Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 with the funeral scheduled for noon Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the funeral home with Minister Braden Etcheson officiating. Burial will be in Roachdale Cemetery.

Ginny loved flowers, and memorials may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.
