The Greencastle City Council met at last night at Greencastle City Hall. Adam Cohen President of the City Council recaps.
The Council also addressed the Boil order the City put in place on September 17 that caught residents and businesses off guard. According to Mayor Murray the boil order was a result of a contractor putting in a new chlorine feed at the water plant and had accidentally left a vacuum on which caused the chlorine level to drop. IDEM then informed the City that a boil order was necessary and could not be lifted until 2 water test were done, the first of which would not be back for 18 hours. The Boil order happened on one of the busiest weekends in Greencastle, which was DePauw University’s Family Weekend.
