A morning crash on Waterworks Hill injured and sent two individuals to the hospital. Reports indicate that it started with a single vehicle accident which later resulted in a second accident. The initial accident occurred at 7am when Paula Gaddis a 47 year old resident of Bainbridge was traveling northbound on U.S. 231 when she lost control of her vehicle and hit a guardrail. The collision flipped Gaddis’s vehicle on it’s side and came to rest on the road. Witnesses of the accident stopped and attempted to help Gaddis when Andrew Thomas, age 54 of Rockville, who was also heading northbound on U.S. 231 failed to stop and crashed into the driver side of Gaddis’s vehicle. Both Gaddis and Thomas were taken by Operation Life for treatment of multiple injuries to the legs and arms. The crash was assessed to have caused more than $10,000 of damage. Greencastle Fire Department and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene.
