INDOT is testing something new on State Road 37 in Morgan County, signs along that road that tell you how fast to go if you want to make the next green light. As of now the signals are only located leading up to the Sr. 144 intersection near Waverly. Harry McGinity with INDOT says the whole concept is based around safety and convenience, but that’s only if drivers are willing to utilize it. He likens it to a round-a-bout, where instead of waiting at a stop sign for your turn traffic is constantly moving through that intersection. McGinity says the idea is that it will make traffic more efficient but cutting down the number of driver waiting for a light.
