First Friday to be pink in honor of breast cancer awareness month

First Friday Greencastle will begin the month of October in the Pink. Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, they will have a Breast Cancer Tribute/Memorial Balloon Lift-Off at 7 pm downtown, cost is $2 per balloon. There will also be live music from 6 to 8 featuring Mike Balka and The Professionals on the courthouse stage followed by War Radio. Stop by Almost Home/Swizzle Stick for grilled food and a beer garden, ReMax will celebrate their grand opening with a huge cold air balloon from 6 to 8. Cricket’s will have their grand opening sale from 5:30 to 10 and Indonesian Imports will have extended hours. While downtown, visit one of the many booths that will be there or head to the Inn at DePauw for the their Paws on the Patio from 6 to 8 pm. Live music with doggie dinners available – all dogs must be leashed. Proceeds from the doggie dinners will go towards the Humane Society of Putnam County. Then head on over to the Putnam County Public Library for their First Fuzzy Friday – with K9 demos by the sheriff’s department and others, along with shelter animals. The Library will be partnering with GC Arts Council and GC Photography Club for a fuzzy themed photo exhibition in the library. The Arts Council will also have an interactive art piece- a large chalkboard mounted in front of Shinn’s Vine St Property on which people will respond to the prompt “Before I die…”
