Marion “Maynard” R. Nichols, 63, of Brazil, passed away at Union Hospital, September 21, 2015 following complications of an abdominal aortic aneurysm.
Maynard was born March 14, 1952, in Brazil, Indiana the son of Sherman and Iona (Easter) Nichols. He graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1971 and then Brasosport Junior College in Lake Jackson, Texas. Following high school Maynard served his country in the Army National Guard and was later honorably discharged. Maynard married Paula Parkins Adams on March 26, 1988. They moved to Texas in 1992 where he worked Shintech as a pipefitter. In 2000 they returned to Indiana where he worked in Princeton, Indiana at Naas Concrete. In 2007 they moved back to Brazil where he began working as a Pump Truck Operator for WoodCo Walls since 2007.
Maynard was an avid golfer and loved playing with family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, kidding around, working, and was an active member of Bee Ridge Congregational Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Sherman R. and Iona (Easter) Nichols, a brother Sherman W. Nichols, a sister Damita Lyon, brothers-in-law Jerry Parkins and Jim Bussing.
He is survived by his wife Paula Nichols of Brazil; children: Joseph Nichols and wife Angelia of Mooresville, Indiana, Gretta Bedwell and husband Mark of Brazil, Robert Adams and wife Susan of Brazil; grandchildren: Christian Nichols and wife Chelsie and Coby Nichols, Jorden Bedwell, Jeremiah Bedwell, Jonathan Adams and Anna Adams; great-grandchildren: Kaydence Nichols and Brantley Nichols; sisters: Janet Riddell and husband George, Cindy Evans and husband Larry, Carol Bussing, Angie Parkins, Nikki Yocom and husband Joe; brother-in-law Kenny Lyon; sisters-in-law Carolyn Nichols and Sinda Parkins Berge; uncle “Manie” to George Riddell, Jennie Pryce, Bill Maesch, Jason Maesch, Greg Bussing, Sherri Clarke, Missy Albright, Pam Penuel, Jeff Yocom, Kent Yocom, Kenny Lyon, Kennetta Nichols, Karen Pennington, Sherman Nichols, Brian Nichols, his beloved dog Kaddie; as well as several great-nieces, nephews and extended family, dear friends and golfing buddies.
Graveside services for Maynard will be at Clearview Cemetery, Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 11:00am with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating.
