Betty Mae Martin

Betty Mae (Crabb) Martin, 86, of Brazil, Indiana passed away September 5, 2015 at Southwood Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Betty was born March 2, 1929, in Brazil, Indiana the daughter of William “Van” and Clara Elizabeth (Greenwall) Crabb. She married John R. “Pete” Martin who preceded her in death in 1975.

Betty enjoyed going to yard sales, working find-a-word puzzles, collecting dolls and Avon bottles. She was a wonderful cook and will especially be remembered for her homemade noodles.

She was preceded in death by her parents Van and Clara Crabb; her husband John “Pete” Martin; siblings: William “Bill” Crabb, Ruth Frye, and Mildred “Midge” Young.

Betty is survived by her daughter Carol Ann Holbert and husband Keith of West Terre Haute; a son Gregory Alan Martin of Shreveport, Louisiana; two grandsons: Jarrad Russell Holbert of Washington, Indiana and Ethan Thomas Holbert of Winter Park, Florida; sister Wilma “Jean” Grayless; long-term companion Samuel Dickison; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Services will be at French Funeral Home, 421 East National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 11am with Pastor Tom Hess officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home, Wednesday, from 4-8pm. Visit www.frenchfuneralhome.com to light a candle in her memory.
