On Sunday August 30th at approximately 1am Clay County Deputies apprehended three subjects for auto theft. The deputies were dispatched after receiving a call about a disabled vehicle on Interstate 70. When deputies arrived investigations revealed that the car was stolen. Police found two passengers William Humber Jr.,age 19 of Indianapolis, and Sholanda Hortan, age 20 of Indianapolis, inside the stolen vehicle. The driver at the time was nowhere to be seen. Deputies later received reports that the driver was getting gas for the disabled vehicle and stole a golf cart from a nearby airport to make the trip back. The driver Shendelle Walkton, age 18 of Indianapolis, was arrested. The three subjects were taken into custody and are being charged with unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle and auto-theft.
