This September, Indiana will host events for all ages in recognition of the 20th anniversary of a statewide celebration of archaeology. Archaeology Month is an opportunity to celebrate and learn about Indiana archaeology. Hoosier history buffs can meet archaeologists and learn about the state’s past. Events are held every September by universities, museums, organizations and individuals throughout Indiana. The DNR Division of Historic Preservation & Archaeology coordinates Archaeology Month. A schedule of events and additional information for Archaeology Month is available at dnr.IN.gov/historic, or by contacting Amy Johnson at ajohnson@dnr.IN.gov or (317) 232-6982.
