This Friday August 28th, The City of Greencastle’s Department of Public Works has announced that a Milling and Paving Project will begin on 5 roads. Friday’s Milling schedule includes the following streets: Main, Center, Gillespie, Poplar (both) and Daggy Streets. Then on Monday, August 31st, Liberty street will need to be closed from Jackson to Gillespie St. and will remain closed until the paving is scheduled to be complete on Thursday, September 3rd. They will also begin Milling on Wood, Redbud and Dogwood Streets. On Tuesday Sept 1, Milling will be done on Washington Street and paving will begin on Liberty, Gillespie, Poplar and Daggy streets. On Wednesday, Sept 2, if the Milling is not completed on Washington Street they will continue working on it as well as begin work on Warren Street. Also scheduled for the 2nd is the paving of Main, Center, Wood, Redbud, Dogwood and Washington Streets. On Thursday, Sept 3, milling will be done on any of the roads mentioned if not yet complete, and they will begin milling on Madison and Franklin and Arlington Streets. Of course this is due to weather and if all goes as planned. Residents are advised to allow extra time to get where you are going and find an alternate route if possible.
