On August 15th around 3am Parke County Deputies responded to a reported burglary in the Howard area. During the investigation Deputies were told that the suspect had entered the home of a 76 year old woman and assaulted her. The suspect pinned the victim to a bed and then took a large amount of money from the room. The victim was able to escape the grasp of the suspect and then pinned to the bed a second time. Deputies were able to locate the suspect William (Bill) Cox, 44 Rockville at his residence. William was taken into custody at approximately 8am that morning and placed in the Parke County Jail. He is being held on preliminary charges of Burglary a Level 4 Felony and Robbery a Level 5 felony and Battery with no bond. Rockville Police Department and West Central Community Corrections assisted at the scene.
