A 911 call in Parke County led to the rescue of one Nathan Jackson age 18 of Mecca. The situation occurred at the Brideton low-head dam this morning August 3rd. Jackson was attempting to jump from the Bridgeton Road where it crosses Racoon Creek but was caught by surprise when the current took him. Jackson was able to attach himself to a log that was stuck on the top part of the dam. After the call was received Indiana Conservation Officer Lieutenant Kent Hutchings was deployed. He was able to successfully retrieve Jackson who luckily sustained no injuries. However Jackson is currently being charged with Criminal Recklessness.
